Youth Outreach & Guidance

Low-threshold youth outreach where young people naturally spend time — building trust and making support easier to access.

About the project

We carry out outreach in places where young people naturally spend their time, including Espoo railway station, Sello, Iso Omena, Lippulaiva and local parks. Instead of waiting for young people to seek help, volunteers meet them in their everyday environments and create opportunities for conversation and guidance. The approach is informal and low-threshold — a simple conversation can be the first step towards the right information, activity or service.

What we do

  • Meet young people in their everyday environments
  • Build relationships through regular contact
  • Education and study guidance
  • Information about services and opportunities
  • Everyday-life guidance and early support
  • Connecting young people with appropriate services

Objective & expected outcomes

Our objective is to reach young people who may not actively seek support themselves, and to offer a low-threshold opportunity to receive information, guidance and encouragement before problems become more difficult.
