Inclusion & Anti-Racism

MOVE2BELONG

Sport, dialogue and youth leadership against racism and exclusion. A project for young people aged 15–29.

About the project

Racism pushes many young people out of shared sport and leisure spaces. MOVE2BELONG brings them back in. In mixed groups, young people from different backgrounds move together, talk openly about belonging and racism, and take one small action of their own. Together Global leads the project with partners in Germany, Portugal and Türkiye, turning grassroots experience into a tested method any youth or sport organisation can use for free.

What we do

  • Free, low-threshold sport sessions for all skill levels
  • Facilitated dialogue on belonging and responding to racism
  • Youth-led actions in every session
  • Training for young people to co-lead groups
  • A free toolkit for youth workers in five languages
  • Pilot groups in Espoo, Darmstadt, Guimarães and Antalya

Objective & expected outcomes

About 100 young people would gain a stronger sense of belonging, practical ways to respond to racism and friendships across backgrounds. Four grassroots organisations would gain a tested method that lasts beyond the project, built into their regular youth work.

Our focus

  • Belonging
  • Anti-racism
  • Sport
  • Dialogue
  • Youth leadership
